THE FUTURE IS MYSTIC
We're on the road again. First stop has been the Mystic Island Festival in Maui where we paint, draw, dance and share with the exquisite Hawaiian island
community, and get to hang with old friends and new. In her opening blessing, Kahuna elder Auntie Pua reminded all of us of our birthright as divine beings able to create in partnership with God/Goddess. Within the backdrop of Paradise, the magical island of Maui, it is easy to recharge your inner spiritual batteries. One only has to look around and be aesthetically open to appreciating the spectacle God/Goddess has created for us. What a great way to spend a wintery week.
Then, off to L.A. to meet with friends and enjoy the first anniversary of the Lost & Found Film Club, a themed series developed and promoted creatively by Zena Grey and Brendt Rioux, celebrating the art of short 16mm films. Look forward also to gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup at Cinefamily in Hollywood (2/5; cinefamily.org).
Leaving L.A., we'll head to the extraordinary Tucson Gem Show. All of Tucson comes out to host the biggest annual gem show in the U.S. where enthusiasts and dealers celebrate the awesomeness of gigantic and precious "fruit" from the depths of the earth. Corridors of towering crystals and the huge broken open geodes, alone have a stunning power. Aldous Huxley hypothesized that human's love of crystals and gems has to do with their likeness to the precious glittering visionary experience. We especially look forward to reuniting with our friend Lee Downey proprietor of a bone carving village in Bali.
Also look forward to a hug from our comrade Garrick Beck, a founder of the annual Rainbow Gathering, held in U.S. National Parks since 1970. In Tucson, the Love Tribe kicks up their heels at the "Gem and Jam," rejoicing in visionary culture, where we will paint on stage with some of our favorite electronic musicians. Our presence will also include a discussion of the evolution of the Entheogeneration, and a Body & Soul Drawing Intensive with beautiful yoginis, where we'll envision each chakra accompanied by wonderful music.
Meanwhile, back at the CoSM Shop… There are many visionary ways to share the Love with your Beloved with a memorable Valentine's Day surprise. Dozens of posters, prints, cards, books, and beautiful apparel with Alex's transformative icons may inspire your shared consciousness of special friends. Purchasing posters, apparel and other gifts from CoSM Shop can help build a temple. Proceeds from CoSM Shop support the future building of Entheon, a sanctuary of Visionary Art in the beautiful Hudson Valley of New York.
Check out these possibilities, many are offered as a signed poster or limited edition print:
A precious CoSM Grail on your altar creates a bridge to the Love Tribe community, representing an elevated level of support for the mission of CoSM.
There are now 42 Grail Holders. Your number is engraved on the bottom. Be among the first 50. These historic bronze grails are lined with silver to assure quality consumption.
Brushing off the road dust, we'll return for Valentine's Day weekend with back to back events on February 15th and 16th. Saturday, join us to first explore your love of Mother Earth at Delvin Solkinson's: Introduction to Permaculture. Following the workshop, have dinner with Delvin and the crew before attending the Full Moon Ceremony. The weekend of Love consumates with a special Sunday afternoon Art Church where we'll shine a light on the promise and reality of Loving Relationships.
